About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach activities to engage with community members, particularly those in need.
• Identify client needs related to housing, employment, healthcare, and social support.
• Provide information about available services and assist clients in making appropriate referrals.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community members and local organizations.
• Organize and facilitate community information sessions and support groups.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, client interactions, and service referrals.

Requirements

• A qualification in social work, community development, or a related field is advantageous.
• Experience in community engagement, social work, or a related outreach role.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of the social issues and resources within the Benoni community.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel within the designated area.
• Compassionate and non-judgmental approach to client interaction.
