Chemical Safety and Compliance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a dedicated Chemical Safety and Compliance Engineer to join their fully remote team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all chemical operations and processes adhere to the highest safety standards and regulatory requirements. You will conduct risk assessments, develop safety protocols, and provide expert guidance to internal teams, all managed remotely. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses for chemical processes and materials.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national, and international environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide expert guidance and support to engineering, operations, and R&D teams on safety matters.
• Stay current with evolving safety regulations and best practices in the chemical industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical safety, process safety management (PSM), or EHS compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Experience with hazard identification techniques such as HAZOP and FMEA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at remote collaboration and training.
