Job description
- LLB degree with admission as an Attorney or Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
- 5–10 years’ post-admission legal experience in corporate, commercial, M&A, banking, or finance law.
- Proven experience in project finance, infrastructure, PPP, concession, or major commercial transactions.
- Strong experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Experience managing legal due diligence for acquisitions, disposals, and investment transactions.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and commercial risk.
- Experience working with external legal counsel and managing multiple legal matters simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate investment, shareholder, commercial, project finance, and joint venture agreements.
- Manage legal due diligence for acquisitions, disposals, and major commercial transactions.
- Advise on regulatory, compliance, procurement, PPP, concession, and corporate governance matters.
- Manage external counsel, legal budgets, disputes, claims, and litigation matters.
- Support board and committee processes, resolutions, statutory filings, and company secretarial requirements.
- Maintain contracts, legal records, standard agreements, and governance frameworks.
- Monitor regulatory developments and provide practical legal advice to business stakeholders.
- Identify legal risks and provide commercially focused solutions to support business objectives.

Qualifications
- Admitted Attorney or Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
- 5–10 years’ post-admission legal experience.
- Experience in corporate/M&A, banking and finance, project finance, or commercial law.
- Experience in infrastructure, PPP, concession, energy, transport, or industrial projects is beneficial.
- Relevant additional legal, commercial, or compliance qualifications would be advantageous.
