Water Resources Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Mossel Bay , operating under a hybrid work model. This role is essential for managing and protecting water resources, designing sustainable water infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. You will play a key role in developing solutions for water supply, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and flood control. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop water supply systems, including treatment plants, distribution networks, and reservoirs.
• Plan and implement stormwater management and flood control strategies, including drainage design and detention/retention systems.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for rivers, canals, and urban drainage systems.
• Assess water quality issues and develop strategies for water pollution control and remediation.
• Prepare environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with water-related regulations.
• Collaborate with government agencies, stakeholders, and other engineering disciplines on water resource projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with a specialization in water resources.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in water resources engineering.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM) and GIS.
• Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and water quality principles.
• Experience with South African water management policies and standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
