Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent and nature of the damage.
- Accurately estimate the cost of repairs, including parts and labor, using industry-standard software and knowledge.
- Prepare detailed damage assessment reports, including photographs and supporting documentation, for claims processing.
- Liaise effectively with policyholders, repairers, and internal claims teams to provide clear explanations and facilitate smooth claim resolution.
- Ensure all assessments are conducted in compliance with insurance policies, regulations, and company procedures.
- Identify potential fraud indicators and report any suspicions to the relevant authorities or departments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques, parts pricing, and industry standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Damage Assessor, Estimator, or a qualified Automotive Technician with assessment experience.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle makes, models, repair procedures, and parts.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Audatex, CCS) and standard office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various assessment locations in and around Port Elizabeth.
