Delivery Driver - Commercial Vehicles

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dependable and experienced Delivery Driver to operate commercial vehicles for their operations in Port Elizabeth . This role is vital for the efficient distribution of goods to various clients and distribution points within the Eastern Cape. The ideal candidate must possess a valid heavy vehicle driver's license, a professional driving permit (PDP), and a clean driving record. You will be responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle, timely deliveries, accurate documentation, and upholding the company's commitment to customer service and safety standards. This position demands physical stamina and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate company commercial vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations in and around Port Elizabeth .
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all assigned loads, adhering to delivery schedules and routes.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any defects or maintenance needs.
• Load and unload cargo securely, utilizing appropriate equipment when necessary, ensuring no damage to goods.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, obtain required signatures, and collect payments or proof of delivery as mandated.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and South African road regulations.

Requirements

• A valid Code 10 or Code 14 driver's license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• A minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience driving commercial vehicles.
• Clean driving record with no major infringements or accidents.
• Good knowledge of the Port Elizabeth area and surrounding transport routes.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and loading/unloading of goods.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
