Corporate Lawyer

Our client is seeking a dedicated Corporate Lawyer to join their established legal team in George . This role is essential for supporting the company's commercial operations, ensuring all legal documentation is sound, and providing proactive legal advice. You will be instrumental in managing contracts, advising on corporate structuring, and maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation in the Western Cape. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commercial acumen and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services within a fast-paced business context in the George area.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts and legal agreements.
• Advise on company formation, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructurings.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and corporate regulations applicable in South Africa .
• Manage and advise on employment law matters affecting the workforce.
• Conduct legal research on specific issues and provide clear, concise legal opinions to management.
• Support the legal department with day-to-day operational tasks and ad-hoc legal queries.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
• Demonstrated experience in corporate and commercial law .
• Solid understanding of South African company law and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment in George .
• Proficiency in legal research databases and standard office software.
