Aircraft Performance Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled Aircraft Performance Engineer to join their technical team in Vereeniging . This role focuses on analyzing and optimizing aircraft performance, ensuring efficient and safe flight operations. You will be responsible for calculating performance data, developing flight planning tools, and providing technical support related to aircraft performance characteristics. This position is ideal for an analytical and technically adept engineer who wants to contribute to the operational excellence of aviation services within the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze flight data to assess and improve aircraft performance metrics such as fuel efficiency and speed.
• Develop and maintain performance data and software tools used for flight planning and operational analysis.
• Provide technical expertise on aircraft performance to flight operations and engineering departments.
• Conduct studies on the impact of environmental factors and aircraft configuration on performance.
• Ensure all performance calculations and documentation comply with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with design and maintenance teams to address performance-related issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft performance analysis or a related engineering role.
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and thermodynamics.
• Proficiency in performance calculation software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
