About the Role
Our client is searching for a dedicated Literacy and Language Specialist to support students within their educational programs in Randburg . This role focuses on enhancing reading, writing, and communication skills across different age groups, identifying areas of difficulty, and implementing targeted interventions. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to create a literacy-rich environment and ensure all students develop strong foundational language abilities. This is a crucial position for advancing educational outcomes in the Gauteng province, contributing to students' academic success and lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess students' literacy and language skills to identify specific needs and learning gaps.
- Develop and implement individualized and small-group intervention strategies to improve reading comprehension, writing fluency, and oral communication.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate literacy support into the regular curriculum.
- Provide professional development and resources to educators on effective literacy instruction techniques.
- Monitor student progress through ongoing assessment and data analysis.
- Promote a love for reading and literature among students through engaging activities and resources.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Literacy Education, English Language, or a related field.
- A teaching qualification with specialized training in literacy instruction.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in literacy development and language intervention.
- Expertise in diagnosing and addressing reading and writing difficulties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
