Field Operations Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Field Operations Supervisor to oversee and manage drilling and production operations in the Richards Bay area. This critical leadership role ensures that all field activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements within the Oil & Gas sector. You will lead a team of field technicians and operators, providing guidance, support, and ensuring operational continuity. This is a hands‑on management position that requires strong leadership and technical expertise in a demanding operational setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily field operations, including drilling, completion, and production activities.
• Ensure adherence to strict safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Manage and develop a team of field personnel, fostering a culture of safety and high performance.
• Monitor operational performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to optimize efficiency.
• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of field equipment and infrastructure.
• Liaise with other departments, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage operational budgets and resource allocation for the field site.

Requirements

• Significant experience (8+ years) in field operations within the Oil & Gas industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven track record of managing safe and efficient operations in remote or challenging environments.
• Strong understanding of drilling, production, and maintenance processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to operational emergencies and challenges.
• Relevant certifications in safety and operations management are highly desirable.
