Senior Data Analyst - Banking

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Data Analyst to join their dynamic team in Randburg . This role is critical for leveraging data to drive business insights, improve decision‑making, and enhance customer experiences within the banking sector. You will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting complex datasets, as well as developing reports and visualizations to communicate findings effectively. Working in a hybrid capacity, you’ll collaborate with business stakeholders and data engineers both in the office and remotely, transforming raw data into actionable intelligence. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and transform large datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Perform in-depth data analysis using statistical techniques and tools to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business units to understand their data needs and translate them into analytical requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in data collection, analysis, and reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
• Strong statistical analysis skills and experience with programming languages like Python or R is a significant advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex findings to non-technical audiences.
