Local Delivery Driver - Supermarket Chain

About the Role

Our client, a prominent supermarket chain, is seeking a dependable Local Delivery Driver to serve the Bloemfontein area. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring fresh groceries and household items are delivered efficiently and courteously to customer homes. You will operate a company vehicle, manage delivery schedules, and interact directly with customers, providing a vital link between the store and the community. The ideal candidate is friendly, punctual, and possesses excellent navigational skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction and safe handling of goods.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick up orders from the store and deliver them to customers' homes within a designated timeframe.
• Ensure that delivered items are handled with care and kept in optimal condition.
• Follow assigned routes and comply with delivery schedules and timeframes.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any customer inquiries or concerns professionally.
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the delivery vehicle.
• Accurately record delivery details and obtain customer signatures as required.

Requirements

• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver, preferably in a retail or grocery setting.
• Good knowledge of the Bloemfontein area and surrounding neighborhoods.
• Physical ability to lift and carry grocery orders, sometimes up to 15-20 kg.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
