About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and determined Social Services Advocate to champion the rights and needs of vulnerable individuals and groups in Randburg . This hybrid role requires you to engage with clients both in person and remotely, ensuring they have access to essential social services, legal aid, and support systems. You will play a critical role in empowering clients, providing them with information, and representing their interests to relevant authorities and organizations. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, adept at navigating complex systems, and committed to social justice within the Gauteng province.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide information and support to clients regarding their rights and available social services.
- Assist clients in navigating complex application processes for government benefits, housing, and other essential services.
- Conduct client interviews and assessments to understand their specific needs and challenges.
- Represent clients' interests in meetings with government agencies, service providers, and community organizations.
- Develop and deliver workshops on rights and access to services for community members.
- Maintain accurate client case files and document all advocacy efforts and outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Law, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in advocacy, social work, or client support services.
- Ability to manage a hybrid work schedule, balancing remote communication with in-person meetings.
- Strong understanding of social welfare policies, legislation, and service delivery systems.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills.
- Knowledge of the challenges and resources available within the Randburg community.
