Senior Plant Maintenance Engineer

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Plant Maintenance Engineer to manage and optimize maintenance operations for their facility in Pretoria . This crucial role involves overseeing the reliability and upkeep of all plant machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians, develop robust preventative maintenance programs, and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance programs for plant machinery and equipment.
• Lead and mentor the maintenance team, assigning tasks, and ensuring high standards of workmanship and safety.
• Oversee the troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, root causes of failure, and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage spare parts inventory, procurement of maintenance supplies, and maintenance budgets effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to plant maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in plant maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or senior engineering role.
• Proven expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex machinery failures.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS) and predictive maintenance technologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing or heavy industry environment is essential.
