Event Planner - Port Elizabeth

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Event Planner to join their dynamic team in Port Elizabeth . This role is responsible for conceptualizing, organizing, and executing a wide range of events, from corporate functions to private celebrations, ensuring they are delivered seamlessly and within budget. You will manage all aspects of event planning, including venue selection, vendor coordination, logistics, and on-site management, providing an exceptional experience for clients and attendees. This position requires a proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving event needs, blending on-site coordination with remote planning responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, budget, and execute events from conception to completion, ensuring all logistical details are managed.
• Liaise with clients to understand their event needs, objectives, and preferences.
• Source and manage relationships with vendors, including caterers, decorators, entertainment, and AV suppliers.
• Develop event timelines, floor plans, and run sheets for seamless execution.
• Oversee on-site event setup, management, and breakdown, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
• Manage event marketing, registration, and attendee communication.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Event Planner or in a similar role, with a portfolio of successful events.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in event planning software and tools.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
• Experience working in a hybrid remote/on-site capacity.
