About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate Automotive Performance Specialist to join their high-performance vehicle workshop in Port Elizabeth . This role is for an individual with a deep understanding of engine tuning, performance enhancements, and motorsport applications. You will be responsible for modifying, tuning, and optimizing vehicle performance to meet specific client requirements, focusing on aspects like power output, handling, and drivability. Working in the scenic coastal city of Port Elizabeth , this is a unique opportunity for a specialist enthusiast to work on exciting vehicles and push the boundaries of automotive engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Tune and optimize engine control units (ECUs) for performance vehicles, enhancing power and efficiency.
• Install and calibrate performance-enhancing components such as turbochargers, exhaust systems, and suspension upgrades.
• Conduct dyno testing and analysis to measure performance metrics and validate modifications.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to engine performance, drivability, and handling.
• Advise clients on suitable performance upgrades and modifications based on their needs and vehicle type.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in the automotive performance sector.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as an Automotive Performance Specialist or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of engine management systems, fuel injection, and forced induction technologies.
• Proficiency with engine tuning software and dynamometer operation.
• Experience with chassis dynamics, suspension tuning, and aerodynamic principles.
• A strong understanding of motorsport regulations and track performance optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
