Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead their maintenance team in Upington, Northern Cape . This position is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of the company's vehicle fleet. You will supervise the maintenance technicians, manage preventative maintenance schedules, oversee repairs, and maintain detailed records of all fleet activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of fleet operations, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and reliable fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the fleet maintenance team.
• Develop and implement effective preventative maintenance schedules for all vehicles.
• Oversee vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repair processes.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement to ensure availability.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to fleet maintenance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and generate reports on fleet performance and costs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within fleet maintenance or a similar automotive setting.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and fleet management software.
• Experience with heavy-duty vehicles and light commercial vehicles.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and control operational costs effectively.
• A valid driver's license and a commitment to safety.
