About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and efficient Transport Dispatcher to manage their fleet operations in Soweto . This role is central to ensuring the smooth and timely movement of goods, coordinating drivers, and optimizing delivery routes across the region. You will be the communication hub for our transportation activities, resolving issues and ensuring operational efficiency. This on-site position requires a proactive individual committed to maintaining high standards of service delivery and operational flow within a busy urban environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule, assign, and monitor delivery routes and driver activities.
• Utilize dispatch software and GPS tracking systems to manage fleet movements efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, providing instructions and addressing real-time challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatches, deliveries, driver hours, and any incidents.
• Liaise with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status and updates.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company safety policies.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a dispatch or logistics coordination role, preferably in transport.
• Familiarity with dispatching procedures and route planning tools.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Proficiency in using relevant software applications.
