Lead Cloud Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Cloud Engineer to spearhead their cloud infrastructure initiatives. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to shape the future of their cloud environment from anywhere. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and reliable cloud solutions that support the company's strategic objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, automation, and best practices, as well as the ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers in a distributed setting, driving innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and deployment processes.
• Ensure the security, availability, and performance of cloud environments through robust monitoring and alerting strategies.
• Lead a team of cloud engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize cloud resource utilization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
• Expertise in designing and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure as code tools.
• Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills for a remote work environment.
