Architectural Technologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Architectural Technologist to join their established practice in Richards Bay . This role is crucial for translating architectural designs into accurate and buildable construction documentation. You will work closely with architects and project managers to ensure that technical drawings and specifications meet all regulatory requirements and construction standards. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise within a supportive team environment, contributing to the successful delivery of a variety of building projects in the KwaZulu-Natal region and gaining valuable experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, for construction.
• Develop comprehensive specifications and schedules for building materials and systems.
• Ensure all technical documentation complies with current building regulations, codes, and standards.
• Collaborate with architects to review and refine design details for constructability and efficiency.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Assist in coordinating with consultants, contractors, and suppliers throughout the construction phase.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Architectural Technologist.
• Proficiency in architectural CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and Revit .
• Strong understanding of building construction methods, materials, and South African building regulations.
• Excellent technical drawing and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and manage project documentation efficiently in Richards Bay .
