About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished and motivated Senior Automotive Mechanic to join their reputable workshop in Klerksdorp. This position demands a high level of technical expertise in diagnosing and repairing a broad spectrum of vehicle issues. You will be instrumental in ensuring vehicle safety and performance, working with a team of dedicated professionals. The role requires someone with a keen eye for detail, excellent diagnostic skills, and the ability to provide guidance to less experienced mechanics, maintaining the highest standards of service quality and customer satisfaction within the automotive service center.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostic assessments on vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
- Conduct major repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, braking systems, and suspension.
- Interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and repair diagrams accurately.
- Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently, safely, and to manufacturer specifications.
- Advise service advisors and customers on the condition of vehicles and necessary repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a qualified Automotive Mechanic.
- Relevant trade certification (e.g., NQF Level 3/4 in Automotive Mechanical Technology).
- Proficiency in using a wide range of diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Solid understanding of vehicle mechanics, systems, and troubleshooting techniques across various brands.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet repair time targets.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
