Are you prepared to address the legal and regulatory challenges faced by a rapidly evolving financial services organization? Our client, a forward-thinking, technology-enabled player within the payments and fintech sector, is seeking a seasoned Legal Risk & Compliance (LRC) Advisor to support sustainable growth through expert legal guidance.

Where You'll Make an Impact:

• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to various business units and management.
• Draft, review, and negotiate key agreements with customers, merchants, suppliers, technology providers, and strategic partners.
• Advise on new products, services, technologies, and distribution channels to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Identify and manage contractual, regulatory, liability, data protection, intellectual property, and operational risks.
• Oversee contract lifecycle management from initiation to renewal or termination.
• Support legal due diligence on partnerships, acquisitions, and strategic investments.
• Monitor and interpret legislation, industry rules, and regulatory directives, translating these into actionable controls and policies.
• Develop and maintain compliance frameworks; conduct ongoing monitoring and reviews.
• Support compliance activities including customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, and data privacy.
• Maintain risk registers, monitor mitigation strategies, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Prepare legal opinions, advisory memoranda, and governance documentation.
• Liaise with regulators, external legal advisors, auditors, and industry bodies.
• Foster strong relationships across all relevant business functions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) or an equivalent recognised legal qualification at NQF Level 8.
• 5 to 8 years of relevant legal experience within banking or financial services.
• Strong drafting, assessment, and analytical skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in compliance management, legal risk assessment, or related fields within the financial sector.
