Child Enrichment Coordinator & Play Therapist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic Child Enrichment Coordinator & Play Therapist to create and manage enriching experiences for children in Nelspruit. This role combines the skills of activity planning and coordination with therapeutic approaches to support children's emotional and social well-being. You will design engaging programs, facilitate play-based learning, and provide support to children facing developmental or emotional challenges. A portion of the role may involve remote coordination of resources and communication, while direct interaction with children and families is key, offering a blend of on-site and potentially remote duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement creative, age-appropriate enrichment activities and play-based learning programs.
• Facilitate play sessions that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Conduct observations and assessments to understand children's needs and tailor support accordingly.
• Provide guidance and support to children, utilizing play therapy techniques where appropriate.
• Collaborate with parents and caregivers to ensure a consistent approach to child development and well-being.

Requirements

• Degree in Child Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or a related field; Play Therapy certification is highly desirable.
• Experience in designing and delivering children's programs and activities.
• Strong understanding of child development and therapeutic play techniques.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt programs for diverse needs and developmental stages in Nelspruit.
