Advocacy Manager

About the Role

Our client, a leading advocacy non-profit organization based in Port Elizabeth , is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Advocacy Manager to lead its efforts in influencing policy and driving social change. This pivotal role involves developing and implementing strategic advocacy campaigns, engaging with policymakers, and mobilizing public support for key issues. The ideal candidate will be a passionate communicator, a skilled strategist, and a dedicated advocate for the causes our client champions. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work from anywhere within South Africa and make a significant impact on policy and societal progress across the Eastern Cape and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive advocacy strategies to achieve organizational policy objectives.
• Conduct research and analysis on relevant policy issues and trends.
• Engage with government officials, legislators, and other stakeholders to promote the organization's agenda.
• Build and manage coalitions with partner organizations to amplify advocacy efforts.
• Develop advocacy materials, including position papers, policy briefs, and campaign communications.
• Mobilize public support through media engagement, digital campaigns, and grassroots organizing in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in policy advocacy, government relations, or non-profit campaigning.
• Proven track record of successfully influencing policy outcomes.
• Exceptional research, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Experience in building and managing diverse stakeholder relationships and coalitions.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and effectively in a remote, fast-paced environment within the Eastern Cape context.
