Electrical Field Service Engineer
About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Electrical Field Service Engineer to join their dedicated team serving clients in and around Randburg . This role involves providing expert technical support, installation, commissioning, and maintenance services for a range of electrical equipment and systems. You will be the primary technical point of contact for customers, diagnosing issues, implementing solutions, and ensuring optimal equipment performance. The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to customer satisfaction, working within a hybrid model that balances field service with some remote administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity to travel, solve complex technical challenges, and build strong client relationships within the diverse industries of Gauteng .
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and service electrical equipment and systems at customer sites.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical problems, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and upgrades to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
- Provide technical training and support to customer personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Generate detailed service reports, documenting all work performed, findings, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the internal engineering and sales teams to address customer needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in field service or technical support for electrical equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, power electronics, motor controls, and industrial automation.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in the field.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently within the Gauteng region.
