SOUS CHEF / SENIOR SOUS CHEF Hartbeespoort | Wedding & Events Venue Urgent Vacancy An exciting opportunity for a strong, hands‑on Sous Chef / Senior Sous Chef to join a busy wedding and events venue in the Hartbeespoort area. We’re looking for an experienced chef who thrives in a fast‑paced kitchen and is particularly strong in hot kitchen operations. This role would suit someone who is organised, reliable and confident handling the demands of high‑volume functions and events.

THE ROLE

Kitchen Operations

• Support the senior kitchen team with the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen.
• Take a strong operational lead within the hot kitchen.
• Assist with food preparation, cooking, plating and service.
• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion standards.
• Ensure the kitchen is fully prepared for weddings, functions and events.
• Work effectively under pressure during busy service periods.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and kitchen hygiene.
• Assist with stock control, wastage management and general kitchen organisation.
• Support and guide junior members of the kitchen team where required.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a capable, practical chef with solid professional kitchen experience and the ability to hit the ground running.

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef, or strong relevant experience at a similar level.
• Excellent hot kitchen skills are essential.
• Experience in busy, high‑volume kitchens.
• Wedding, banqueting, events or function experience would be advantageous.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Able to remain calm and maintain standards under pressure.
• Hands‑on, reliable and comfortable working as part of a busy kitchen team.
• Must be willing and able to relocate to the Hartbeespoort area.

THE DETAILS

Location: Hartbeespoort

Remuneration: R18 000 – R22 000 per month, depending on experience

Accommodation: Live-out. Temporary accommodation can be provided while the successful candidate secures their own accommodation nearby.
