Civil Engineer - Transportation Planning

About the Role

Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Civil Engineer specializing in transportation planning to join their team in Benoni . Key Responsibilities

• Develop transportation models and conduct traffic impact assessments for new developments and infrastructure projects.
• Plan and design road networks, public transport systems, and non-motorized transport facilities.
• Prepare feasibility studies, concept reports, and detailed plans for transportation infrastructure improvements.
• Collaborate with urban planners, government agencies, and stakeholders to integrate transportation plans with land use planning.
• Analyze traffic data and operational performance to identify areas for enhancement and optimization.
• Contribute to the development of sustainable transportation strategies, including cycling and pedestrian infrastructure planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (e.g., Transportation Planning, Urban Planning).
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr.Eng. or CHTE is advantageous.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation planning , traffic engineering, or related disciplines.
• Proficiency in transportation modeling software such as PTV Vissim, CUBE, or similar.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with traffic data collection and analysis techniques.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills for communicating complex findings.
