Remote Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and self-directed Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to join their fully remote team. In this position, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative mechanical components and systems from the comfort of your own location. You will collaborate closely with a distributed team of engineers, project managers, and product specialists using advanced online collaboration tools. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating robust mechanical solutions that meet demanding performance criteria, all while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and engineer mechanical parts and assemblies using CAD software.


• Conduct detailed analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration, to validate designs.


• Create comprehensive manufacturing drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM).


• Collaborate effectively with remote team members through virtual meetings and project management platforms.


• Troubleshoot design issues and propose practical, cost-effective solutions.


• Stay abreast of new technologies and design methodologies applicable to remote engineering roles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.


• 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.


• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and simulation tools.


• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials science, and engineering principles.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective remote collaboration.


• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently in a remote setting.
