Purchasing Agent

Our client is looking for an efficient and detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join their team in Vereeniging . This role is critical for the acquisition of necessary goods and services, ensuring that the company operates smoothly and within budget. You will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, processing purchase orders, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted efficiently and cost-effectively to support the company's operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, order, and receive goods and services required by the organization.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, obtaining quotes and negotiating favourable pricing and terms.
• Prepare and maintain accurate purchase orders, invoices, and other relevant documentation.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely replenishment.
• Ensure compliance with all company purchasing policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in business or a related field is a plus.
• 2-4 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
• Proficiency in using purchasing software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
