Child Development Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Child Development Specialist to join their team in Port Elizabeth . This role is crucial for supporting the healthy development of children within their care programs, offering expertise in developmental milestones, behavioral support, and early intervention strategies. You will work both on-site and remotely, collaborating with educators, parents, and external agencies to create tailored support plans. Key Responsibilities

• Assess children's developmental progress across various domains (cognitive, social, emotional, physical).
• Develop and implement individualized intervention strategies for children requiring additional support.
• Provide guidance and training to childcare staff on child development best practices.
• Collaborate with parents to create consistent support strategies between home and the center.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments and interventions.
• Liaise with external specialists and therapists as needed for comprehensive child support.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent qualification in Child Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or a related field.
• Minimum of (Specify Years, e.g., 5) years of experience working directly with children in a developmental capacity.
• Strong knowledge of child development theories and assessment tools.
• Experience with early intervention programs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency in virtual communication and collaboration tools for hybrid work.
