Lead Teacher - Early Childhood Education

Our client is seeking an experienced and nurturing Lead Teacher for their Early Childhood Education program in Stellenbosch . This position involves creating a stimulating and safe learning environment for young children, developing age-appropriate curriculum, and guiding a team of teaching assistants. You will foster the holistic development of children, focusing on cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. The ideal candidate is passionate about early learning, possesses strong leadership skills, and is dedicated to providing the best possible start for every child in their care.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and activities aligned with early childhood educational standards.
• Manage a classroom of young children, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
• Observe and assess children's development, documenting progress and identifying areas for support.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to support children's learning and development at home.
• Mentor and guide assistant teachers, fostering a positive and collaborative team atmosphere.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an early childhood educator, with at least 1 year in a lead role.
• Strong knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early years education.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
