Electrical Design and Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a versatile Electrical Design and Installation Engineer to join their team in East London . This role encompasses both the conceptual design of electrical systems and the oversight of their successful implementation on-site. You will work on projects ranging from power distribution to control systems, ensuring designs are practical, compliant, and efficiently installed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and practical experience in managing electrical installations, contributing to the successful delivery of projects in the Eastern Cape region, with a balanced approach to office-based design and site-based supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control circuits, adhering to project specifications.
• Develop detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation using CAD software.
• Plan and manage the installation of electrical equipment and systems on project sites.
• Oversee site activities, ensuring work is performed safely, correctly, and in accordance with designs.
• Conduct inspections and testing of installed electrical systems prior to handover.
• Coordinate with site personnel, contractors, and clients to resolve installation issues effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in both electrical design and site installation .
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar electrical design software.
• Solid understanding of electrical installation methods, safety standards, and project management principles.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
