Telecommunications Equipment Installer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Telecommunications Equipment Installer to join their operations team in Mossel Bay. This hands‑on role is essential for ensuring the proper setup and functioning of various telecommunications devices and systems for our customers. You will be responsible for the physical installation of hardware, basic configuration, and initial testing to guarantee service activation. This position requires a practical mindset, physical capability, and a commitment to providing excellent service directly to clients in the Western Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and connect telecommunications equipment, including modems, routers, set-top boxes, and related cabling at customer locations.
• Perform initial system configurations and diagnostic tests to ensure all equipment is functioning correctly before completion of service.
• Troubleshoot basic installation issues, such as connectivity problems or incorrect setups.
• Adhere strictly to installation schedules, safety protocols, and company standards.
• Educate customers on basic equipment operation and service features.
• Maintain an organized inventory of equipment and tools, ensuring vehicles are well‑stocked for daily tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience in equipment installation, preferably in the telecoms industry , is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with basic networking concepts, copper, and fiber optic cabling.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and complete tasks efficiently.
• Physical stamina for climbing ladders, working in various environments, and lifting moderate weights.
• Strong customer service orientation and good communication skills.
