About the Role

Our client, a high-performance sports organization based in Pretoria , is seeking an exceptional Lead Sports Performance Analyst to join their innovative team. This fully remote position will focus on leveraging cutting-edge data analytics to drive athletic success and inform strategic decision-making across multiple sports disciplines. You will be instrumental in developing analytical frameworks, interpreting complex datasets, and communicating actionable insights to coaches, athletes, and management. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the collection, processing, and analysis of performance data from various sources, including video, GPS, biometric sensors, and game statistics.
• Develop and implement advanced analytical models and dashboards to track athlete performance, identify trends, and provide insights into strengths and weaknesses.
• Collaborate closely with coaching staff and sports scientists to translate data-driven insights into practical training strategies and tactical adjustments.
• Create comprehensive performance reports and presentations for coaches, athletes, and senior management, effectively communicating complex findings.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in sports analytics, data visualization tools, and performance monitoring technologies.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of a data-informed performance culture within the organization.

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Sports Science, Biomechanics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in sports performance analysis, preferably in a lead or senior role.
• Proven expertise in statistical analysis, data modeling, and visualization tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL, Tableau).
• Experience with athlete tracking systems (GPS, video analysis software) and understanding of physiological data.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
