Family Support Counselor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Support Counselor to join their team in Stellenbosch . This role focuses on providing therapeutic support and guidance to families facing various challenges, helping them build stronger relationships and navigate difficult circumstances. You will offer counseling, mediation, and intervention services aimed at improving family dynamics and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual, couples, and family counseling to address issues such as communication problems, conflict resolution, and life transitions.

• Facilitate workshops and group sessions on parenting skills, stress management, and relationship building.
• Collaborate with other professionals, such as educators and social workers, to ensure comprehensive client support.
• Maintain confidential client records and adhere to ethical standards and professional guidelines.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
• Registered as a practicing professional with the relevant South African board (e.g., HPCSA, SACSSP).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in family therapy or counseling.
• Proficiency in various counseling techniques and therapeutic modalities.
• Excellent active listening, empathy, and communication skills.
