Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established engineering department located in George . This role is integral to designing and enhancing a range of mechanical products and systems, focusing on efficiency and reliability. Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop new mechanical products and improve existing ones using advanced CAD tools.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations and simulations for structural integrity, thermal performance, and fluid dynamics.
• Create comprehensive technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement, to ensure project success.
• Conduct root cause analysis for design-related issues and implement corrective actions.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mechanical engineering technologies and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Significant experience (6+ years) in mechanical product design and development.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, such as Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Demonstrated experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools.
• Solid understanding of material properties, manufacturing techniques, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
