About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Contracts Manager to oversee contract administration for major construction projects based in Nelspruit . You will be responsible for managing all contractual aspects from procurement through to project close-out, ensuring that all parties adhere to the terms and conditions, and mitigating contractual risks. This senior role requires exceptional negotiation skills, a deep understanding of contract law, and the ability to manage complex relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. You will play a critical role in safeguarding the company's interests and ensuring the successful financial and legal completion of large-scale projects, requiring regular site presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire lifecycle of construction contracts, including drafting, negotiation, and administration.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations by all parties involved.
- Oversee the tender and procurement process, including subcontractor selection and agreement.
- Manage variations, claims, and dispute resolution processes effectively.
- Provide expert advice on contractual matters to project teams and senior management.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies related to contracts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in contracts management within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of various standard forms of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in managing high-value, complex construction contracts.
