Remote Telecom Network Operations Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Telecom Network Operations Specialist to join our fully remote team. This role is crucial for the continuous monitoring, management, and optimization of our global telecommunications network. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of network availability, performance, and security by actively identifying and resolving operational issues. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using advanced monitoring tools, identifying and diagnosing potential issues proactively.
• Respond to network alerts and incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing timely resolutions.
• Manage and maintain network configurations, ensuring compliance with operational standards and security policies.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems.
• Document operational procedures, incident reports, and network changes.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical network events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+) are a plus.
• 3-5 years of experience in network operations or a similar role within the telecommunications industry.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and incident management systems.
• Familiarity with scripting for automation (e.g., Python, Bash) is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, team-oriented environment.
