About the Role
Our client is seeking a dependable Experienced Commercial Van Driver to manage inbound and outbound logistics for their operations based in Tembisa . This role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods to various business partners and client sites within the greater Gauteng province. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating urban and suburban environments, possess strong time management skills, and maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions. You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of products, contributing directly to the operational success of the business in the dynamic Tembisa landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial van safely and efficiently for scheduled pick-ups and deliveries in and around Tembisa .
- Load and unload a variety of goods, ensuring proper handling and securement of all cargo.
- Adhere strictly to delivery schedules and routes, optimizing for time and fuel efficiency.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, vehicle condition, and mileage.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any unforeseen delays.
Requirements
- A valid South African driver's license (Code 10 or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience with commercial vehicles.
- Familiarity with routes and logistics within the Gauteng area, particularly Tembisa .
- Physical ability to handle goods weighing up to 30kg.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- A clean criminal record and a history of responsible driving.
