Telecommunications Installer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable Telecommunications Installer to join their team serving the Soweto area. You will be responsible for the installation and setup of telecommunications equipment, including broadband internet, television, and phone services, at customer premises. This is a customer-facing role that requires technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service. You will play a key role in connecting our customers to vital communication services, ensuring seamless integration and functionality of installed systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and activate telecommunications services, including internet modems, routers, and TV set-top boxes.
• Run and terminate cabling (coaxial, Ethernet) within customer residences and businesses.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation-related issues, ensuring optimal service performance.
• Educate customers on the use of their new equipment and services.
• Maintain a clean and professional work environment at customer locations.
• Adhere to all company safety guidelines and installation procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Telecommunications Installer or in a related field is preferred.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and telecommunications technology.
• Ability to work with hand and power tools, and comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Strong customer service orientation and good communication skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
