Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft landing gear systems, including struts, actuators, brakes, wheels, and associated components.
• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, overhauls, and component replacements on landing gear assemblies according to manufacturer specifications and approved data.
• Conduct functional tests and performance checks of landing gear systems post-maintenance to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed on landing gear components.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation regulations, airworthiness directives, and company policies.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures while working with high-pressure hydraulic systems and heavy components in the Port Elizabeth facility.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Aircraft Component Mechanic with a strong focus on Landing Gear systems.
• Demonstrated proficiency in repairing and overhauling hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems specific to landing gear.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, repair schemes, and engineering drawings related to landing gear.
• Experience with specialized tools and equipment used for landing gear maintenance and testing.
• A solid understanding of aviation safety standards and best practices.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a workshop environment in Port Elizabeth .
