About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer to contribute to their advanced mobile network infrastructure in Richards Bay . This role is critical for the design, optimization, and performance management of their 4G and 5G RAN deployments. You will work with cutting-edge technologies, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure the delivery of high-quality mobile communication services to customers. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned RAN professional to make a significant impact, driving innovation and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of a vital telecommunications network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and deploy 4G/LTE and 5G NR RAN solutions, including site selection, configuration, and integration.
  • Optimize RAN performance for capacity, coverage, and quality of service, using advanced analytics and tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex RAN issues, including interference, handover failures, and performance degradation.
  • Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for new RAN deployments and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with core network teams and other stakeholders to ensure seamless end-to-end service delivery.
  • Stay abreast of emerging RAN technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing new solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Radio Access Network engineering, with a strong focus on LTE and 5G.
  • In-depth knowledge of RAN principles, including radio propagation, antenna systems, and interference management.
  • Experience with RAN planning and optimization tools.
  • Familiarity with RAN virtualization (vRAN) and cloud-native RAN concepts is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
