About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Educational Psychologist to join their support services team in Soweto. This vital role involves assessing students' learning, emotional, and behavioural needs, and developing tailored intervention strategies to support their academic and personal development. You will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and external stakeholders to create a nurturing and effective learning environment for all students. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of students to identify learning, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
- Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans and therapeutic strategies for individual students and groups.
- Provide counseling and support to students experiencing academic, social, or emotional challenges.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and school administrators to implement support strategies.
- Offer consultation and training to school staff on child development, mental health, and learning strategies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments and interventions.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Educational Psychology or a related field.
- Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Educational Psychologist.
- Minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in an educational setting.
- Proficiency in a range of psychological assessment tools and intervention techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.
