E-commerce Platform Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and technically adept E-commerce Platform Manager to oversee their online platform operations in Stellenbosch. This role is responsible for the overall health, performance, and evolution of the e-commerce website, ensuring it meets business objectives and provides an exceptional user experience. You will manage the platform roadmap, liaise with development teams, and implement new features and integrations to drive growth and efficiency. This is a key leadership position for someone passionate about e-commerce technology and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations and strategic roadmap for the e-commerce platform.
• Oversee the implementation of new features, integrations, and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
• Collaborate with IT, marketing, and product teams to define platform requirements and priorities.
• Monitor platform performance, uptime, and security, proactively addressing any issues.
• Drive initiatives to improve website usability, conversion rates, and overall customer experience.
• Stay abreast of e-commerce technology trends and identify opportunities for innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in e-commerce platform management, including experience with major platforms (e.g., Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopify Plus).
• Strong understanding of web development processes, APIs, and system integrations.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and work with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
