Junior Civil Engineer - Roads & Stormwater

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Civil Engineer to join their Roads and Stormwater division in Soweto . This is an excellent entry-level position for a recent graduate eager to develop their skills in the design and planning of transportation and drainage infrastructure. You will work closely with experienced engineers, contributing to project development, conducting site assessments, and ensuring designs meet required standards. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to build a foundation in a critical area of civil engineering within the vibrant context of Gauteng 's urban development.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of road alignments, pavement structures, and intersection layouts.
• Support the development of stormwater management plans, including culverts and drainage systems.
• Conduct site investigations and gather data for design purposes.
• Prepare engineering drawings and documentation using CAD software under supervision.
• Assist in the preparation of project reports, specifications, and bills of quantities.
• Learn and apply relevant design standards and software tools pertinent to road and stormwater engineering.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering degree.
• Entry-level position, with a strong academic foundation in relevant subjects.
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., \"AutoCAD\") and basic engineering principles.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
