Senior Research Scientist - Pharmacology

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly qualified Senior Research Scientist with a specialization in pharmacology to join their esteemed drug discovery unit in Randburg . This role is central to advancing therapeutic programs through innovative preclinical research and development. You will design and execute in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of novel drug candidates. Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct comprehensive pharmacology studies, including target validation, dose-response assays, and PK/PD modeling.


• Perform in vitro assays using cell-based systems and biochemical techniques.


• Manage and execute in vivo studies in animal models, adhering to ethical guidelines and regulatory standards.


• Analyze and interpret complex experimental data, generating robust conclusions and recommendations.


• Collaborate with medicinal chemists and other project team members to advance drug candidates through the pipeline.


• Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and contribute to regulatory submissions for preclinical programs in Randburg .

Requirements

• PhD in Pharmacology, Toxicology, or a related life science discipline.


• Minimum of 6 years of post-doctoral research experience in drug discovery and development.


• Demonstrated expertise in designing and executing both in vitro and in vivo pharmacological studies.


• Strong knowledge of assay development, data analysis, and relevant scientific software.


• Experience with regulatory requirements for preclinical drug development.


• Excellent scientific writing and presentation skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
