Our client is seeking a nurturing and dedicated Child and Youth Care Worker to join their team in Centurion . This role is pivotal in providing a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for children and young people in their care. You will be instrumental in fostering their holistic development, addressing their emotional, social, and educational needs. Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, supervision, and emotional support to children and youth according to their individual care plans.
• Implement daily routines, including mealtimes, hygiene, educational activities, and recreational pursuits.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with the children and young people, acting as a role model and mentor.
• Observe and report on the behavior, development, and progress of each child/youth to the relevant supervisors and case managers.
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
• Manage challenging behaviors constructively and promote positive social interactions among residents.
• Ensure the safety and security of the living environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification or experience in childcare, social work, or youth development .
• Demonstrated experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a residential setting.
• Strong understanding of child development principles, trauma-informed care, and child protection protocols.
• Excellent communication, active listening, and empathetic engagement skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and manage challenging situations professionally.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to undergo necessary background checks and training.
