Site Civil Engineer - Construction Management

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Site Civil Engineer to oversee construction activities on diverse projects in the Stellenbosch area. This role demands a strong presence on-site, ensuring that all civil works are executed safely, efficiently, and in strict accordance with design specifications and project plans. You will be the primary point of contact for construction teams, subcontractors, and project managers, driving project success through effective site management and problem-solving. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on-site civil engineering construction activities.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of all civil works, including earthworks, concrete structures, and drainage systems.
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents, and ensure adherence.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other site personnel to maintain project schedules and budgets.
• Implement and enforce site safety regulations and environmental controls.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress reports, identifying and resolving any construction issues promptly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in site supervision and construction management of civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project scheduling.
• Familiarity with contract administration and quality assurance procedures on construction sites.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
