Remote Network Infrastructure Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Remote Network Infrastructure Specialist to join their expanding IT team. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and secure network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance for our distributed workforce. This is a unique opportunity to shape and manage critical network assets, contributing to the company's technological backbone from a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage the company's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, latency, and security threats proactively.
• Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures to safeguard company data and systems.
• Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and technology deployments.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal users and IT staff on network-related matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration and infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP , routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), VLANs, and network security principles.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).
• Proven ability to manage and troubleshoot complex network environments in a remote capacity.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
