About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Architectural Technologist to join their expanding design and build firm in Port Elizabeth . You will be instrumental in translating conceptual designs into detailed technical drawings and specifications for a variety of construction projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of building regulations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects and engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and construction details using CAD and BIM software.
- Ensure all designs comply with national building regulations, SANS codes, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with structural engineers, MEP engineers, and other consultants to integrate their designs into the architectural plans.
- Prepare specifications, schedules, and tender documentation.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure the built work conforms to the design intent.
- Assist in the preparation of planning applications and presentations.
Requirements
- National Diploma or B.Tech in Architectural Technology.
- Registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) as a Professional Architectural Technologist (Pr.ArchTech).
- Minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in architectural design and documentation.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
- Good understanding of construction methods and materials.
